- ALAGADI TURTLE BEACH & ITS GOOD SOUL "ERKAN"-THE JEWELLERY & HANDICRAFT VENDOR
What would "Alagadi Turtle Paradise" Beach be, without its lovable hippie called "Erkan". An artist, philosopher and real walking encyclopedia in so many ways. As soon as you enter the Alagadi Turtle Paradise through the oleander-lined entrance, you may well be surprised as a German-speaking visitor with a friendly Hamburg "Na, wat schnackt". Then "Erkan" is a real institution on Alagadi Beach and a jewellery and handicraft seller. Einer unserer Lieblingsspots, wenn wir If you're ever in need of a little time out, you can't miss this place in our northern Cypriot collection. It is simply a magical interplay that lures us here again and again. The energy of the unique turtle nature reserve with one of the largest sandy beaches in the region, Erkan and his always interesting stories, which we have been able to listen to since the beginning of our first visit here, and the warm welcome from the operators of the beach shack "Alagadi Turtle Paradise". But today we devote all our attention to Erkan and the long-awaited interview with him. It is one of the interviews that particularly touched us, because Erkan takes us on his very personal journey through life. As a true hippie he travelled with his caravan through America and many other countries, settled on Mallorca for some time as a gallery owner, fell in love with a German girl and loves and adores everything that concerns fauna & flora. How he came back to Cyprus and became a tour guide and then settled down on Alagadi Beach with his dream job. As you can imagine, we didn't get by with 30 minutes of interview time this time. His life story is so inspiring, so colourful, so blooming and above all so entertaining and educational. We are sure that his mission is to bring people back to themselves and to nature. And one thing we guarantee is that he will do it - a little bit more with every visit to Alagadi. If you want to be infected by Erkan's deep knowledge, you should definitely check out this interview. And maybe the next time you visit the Alagadi Turtle Paradise, you won't be able to pass by the stand of this touching, introspective soul without a "Wat schnackt"! - SABRI ABIT- BELLAPAIS GARDEN RESTAURANT - A Cypriot with a German Past
"We know the Hotelier & Restaurant Owner "Sabri" already since 2018. A gray-haired, very well-groomed man with a lot of charm, glasses, shirt and suit, but no tie. We already got into conversation with Sabri during one of our first visits. He found us through our "being German" and we found him because of a travel documentary on television. His history and knowledge of history are well known to us and not only because of that, we asked him for an interview for our book "North Cyprus-On a Word". We arranged to meet Sabri on his summer terrace for this interview. Despite the enormous north wind from the sea, we wanted to capture the unique atmosphere. Why our microphones would fail that day is still not entirely clear to us. The test was successful as expected, but the recording of the interview, was recorded with a lot of background noise. We were very disappointed about this at first. Therefore, the whole interview on www.nordzypernaufeinwort, will only be an excerpt of the parts that were well understood. Then we said to ourselves, "It's like always in life. It is what it is and we make the best of it and don't shed another tear for a perfect recording of this interview." Sabri talks to us about his childhood experiences, his time in Germany as a press officer in the 80s/90s. Then it's back to Cyprus and his vision of Bellapais Gardens begins to grow. He tells of an evening meeting with friends for a good "Brandy Sour", his uncle's donkey, named "Ferrarari" and the purchase of this property. When asked what he would like to see in Cyprus, he sat back and began to tell the story. The talented storyteller Sabri will surely captivate you with his narration as much as he captivated us. We are especially looking forward to sharing this interview with you soon, even if it is not perfectly set to sound, but it is full of content. Until then you should not miss it to be pampered in Sabri's paradise https://www.bellapaisgardens.com. Sunny wishes, Yours, Samira & Marten
- LAW IN NORTHERN CYPRUS - with Pinar ÖCAL, Lawyer & Notary
There is a lot of heart and equally concentrated knowledge in this so petite, but equally strong woman. Double admission as a lawyer, once in England and then still on North Cyprus, immediately convey competence, security and passion. Pinar brings clarity and light into the darkness with all topics, approximately around the right of North Cyprus. Our appointment took place on a Friday afternoon. The atmosphere was relaxed as the last clients were taken care of and the well-deserved weekend was just around the corner. Pinar Öcal, www.lawlexcyprus.com. Her office in Alsancak, west of Girne, is friendly and flooded with light. It was there that we began the interview talking about her life in both worlds. How did she grow up? What were her goals? What decisions in her life have had a particular impact on her? Another focus of the interview was, of course, the legal situation in Northern Cyprus. How does the last will and testament work?, establishment of various corporate constructs? to how to get married on the island? ...and much more. Pinar has the gift of expressing the driest legal topics, in an absolutely understandable clarity. Even the driest and most complicated procedures she "serves" with her own lightness. Through her "two lives", alternating between Northern Cyprus and England, she carries the best of both worlds. On the one hand, her clear and unambiguous communication in the most beautiful British English and on the other hand, her warm, friendly and charming cypriot manner. Not only for these reasons, we decided to interview Pinar and are very happy to have the different facts from her prepared for you. We know that for many people clarity on these issues is very important. Her personal experiences, mixed with the enlightening legal advice, make this interview unique and absolutely worth watching. So be sure to watch. Coming soon here on our channel. Yours, Samira & Marten
- EAGLES NEST- ESENTEPES GASTRO- HOT-SPOT - In an interview with the charming operators Mike & Veysel
Really "big cinema", with fantastic company at our favorite table - this is, where you fall in love with North Cyprus https://www.facebook.com/eaglessnest On one of the busiest days - Sunday, fully booked, nonetheless, both operators welcome us from one of our absolute favorite locations for our book interview. Veysel & Mike. Mike, expat of Scottish origin and since 2015 permanently on the island and Veysel, born and raised in Kücük Erenköy, invited us to the journey to their "story" at the round table. It was as refreshing as the turquoise sea in the background. Two inspiring visionaries, that will give our book some really good taste. These 30 minutes were so entertaining because, even after 3 years at Eagles Nest, the two are still bubbling over with ideas and energy. Mike has illuminated many countries before discovering the ideal country to live in- North Cyprus, here you can have all together. Veysel, the significantly younger of the two, wanted to change his world already at the age of 12. When the two finally met in a bar, it became a friendship, which in 2020 also led to a partnership with the newly opened "EAGLES NEST" https://www.facebook.com/eaglessnest. Doubts that starting a gastronomic business is not entirely risk-free in such a crisis-ridden time, Mike swept aside with the words, "I've been through a lot of crises all over the world, I'm not afraid, I knew what we were want and what we definitely don't want and that's what was important." This is how the story of the two passionate globetrotters and friends of good taste began in 2020. They keep planning great ideas and projects every day, such as the reopening of the outdoor club - "The Edge". Starting next week, snacks and smaller dishes will also be offered here and of course with the best live acts, in old manner.. Veysel also told us that he is currently working on international stars - to accompany our guests into the fabulous sunset with the finest sounds. All information about events can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/eaglessnest. The entire video interview with all the details will soon be available on this channel or in our book at the latest. And we promise that not a dry eye will stay here. A sundowner at the Eagles Nest is an absolute "must have" during your stay in North Cyprus. See you soon, Yours, Samira & Marten

- Our first interview with the President of North Cyprus TRNC - Ersin Tatar
Our audience with the President for our book on North Cyprus. Bold jump into the deep end! This is our second book that we are writing, but our first recorded video interview - without a rehearsal, but with the President of North Cyprus, Ersin Tatar. You can certainly imagine how "the pump" went here. But the motivation was the same and the result was an "audience" of exactly 30 minutes. The president doesn't always have such "cheerful" interview appointments. At least he took positive note of our happy and excited mood and talked through the 30 minutes just as "happy". He talks about the advantages of his country, the people, the upswing it is experiencing and his vision of where it should go. The video is still in progress, so we'll give you a few lines from the book for the time being. Are we even allowed to make a video recording of the interview? The situation was very exciting for us, especially since it is the first president of a state that we have had the opportunity to interview. We hardly dare say it, it was our first formal interview and it was also in English. I'm sure you can imagine how extraordinary this moment was for us that day. In the end it was a very friendly and benevolent conversation. He happily noted our vibrancy and our positive attitude towards North Cyprus in the preliminary talk, so he took more time for the interview than we had expected. It might as well have been just taking notes or tape recordings. But the video was acceptable to him. Since the President founded his own TV station in his pre-presidential career in Turkey as general coordinator of a large TV station and later in Nicosia, this was a business that he was familiar with from all sides. In North Cyprus we have it all President Ersin Tatar started with the sentence "In Northern Cyprus we have everything!" We have the sun, the green areas, the mountains, the sea, beautiful coasts, so beautiful environment. We're not that developed because we didn't have the opportunity to do that. In hindsight, however, this was even better for us, he slyly remarked, as it allowed the beautiful coast to be preserved. "Especially where they live, in the Esentepe region, Tatlisu is beautiful," he added. An interesting cross-section of many topics followed A long and wide-ranging digression on the airport, water supply, electricity, development of the construction industry, medical care, schools, the legal system, ecosystem and much more. about food culture to typical Cypriots, it was a very informative interview. The 30 minutes were up quickly and we were allowed to take a photo for the family album as a farewell. The whole interview is of course in the book and the video is here on our vlog.I hope we were able to make you a little excited and curious. For us it was of course a rocket start in terms of interviews! The next interview highlights one of the most delicious restaurants on the island. You may be curious. Your Samira & Marten
